It all makes sense!

I've been studying mens faces: don't ask me why. Its probably got a lot to do with Tony constantly asking me, "Do I look as old as him" when we hear of a person who is Tonys age or near to it....

Having looked at the sunkissed and careworn faces of the older Cypriot men (who may actually only be in their 50s but have had a hard life), I had to laugh today when I looked at a famous football manager who is 55 and I suddenly realised: men north of 50 look grumpy because they cannot smile: their jowels are so developed and their intent to stay looking wrinkle free, makes them look serious, even if they are not.
They cannot smile coz the effort of lifting their cheek muscles is so much, they forget what they are doing in the process and just let the smile drop away before it develops into anything recognisable............

Am happy now. Means my often grumpy looking older husband isn't really grumpy: there is a real, happy and thriving funball living under the protective outer facial shell - its just shy!
