Apop Kinyras Peyia played Yeriskipo on Sunday, at home in the Peyia stadium, While the crowds weren’t huge due to the cold afternoon and poor performance of the team of late, the passion was obvious – both from the newly shaped team and the crowd!
At the 88th minute, it was looking like we’d won but only just: one nil and about to hear the whistle. Thankfully, Peyia scored two more very welcome goals in the few minutes of extra time so the local crowd went wild and there has been a lot of back slapping and congratulating going on in the village of Peyia today.
Now I don’t particularly like football, though Tony, an ex professional player, loves it! But I do love this village and support all the local community to do bring life and success here.
The fact that three of the new players are French, extremely handsome and living in three of our rental villas, has absolutely nothing to do with my fervour. Mais Non!!
