village life

Lynn - 23/10/2009

I was a tad stressed yesterday about not having time to get everything done. Rushing to the bank, I couldn't get parked so left my car at the top of the hill, near Pinelopis, which is a beautiful old hilly street running from the top of the hill to the lower car park. I forget how lovely this street is: old stone built houses with pretty wooden doors. Hanging baskets overflowing with flowers, cats sitting on doorsteps- and cobbles between the houses, not cars. It always takes my breath away and yesterday was no different.....

Forgetting the stress I'd carried, I pottered down to the bank, then the post office then the centre of the village. Only a few minutes walk but the journey was filled with cheerful, "hello Mrs Lynn" calls from the bank manager, the postman, the helper at the supermarket, our post man and more......I was in my element! There is something lovely about village life - or is it just that its lovely life in the village of Peyia? I think a bit of both......
