Multi-tasking

Alfie , our eldest dog , who is the most peaceful animal on the planet, isn't too well. Don't get me wrong, he's not very ill , he is just suffering a little with heat exhaustion and has a heat rash on his tummy which he keeps "investigating" and is making very sore.

On the way down the hill to our office for the villas in Peyia, I stopped at the chemist to get some cream for Alfie. Yes, you read that right: our chemist, Christakis, also cares for animals and keeps the appropriate medicine in his cupboard. I'd heard this but hadn't tested it and did wonder when I walked in, if I had made this up and he would laugh at me when I made my request.

I needn't have worried. The man in front of me in the queue, was asking for help for his horse - who had just bitten him because he'd tried to give her eye drops. Christakis offered help for the horse then cleaned and bandaged up the wound on the mans arm. When I explained about Alfie, Christakis found the right cream, gave me instructions then asked after Tony, who has had an ear infection and asked me if I needed anything for him!

Its quite barmy buying medicines for animal and people together - but why not?! I just hope I don't get them mixed up!!
