We had a very interesting Greek class last night. Paola was explaining more to us about what names mean. For example, Phillipos, is actually made up of two names :Philli - Friendly and lipos, another name for horse. So Philip , sitting next to me in class, will forever be "friendly horse"

The one which really made me laugh was "Theoros" (phoentically spelt). It is made up of "god" and "gift" - and there are very many men on this island who believe it should be THEIR name!
