Peyia Cyprus

rain , rain, don't go away

According to the stats here, we've gathered just less than I million cubic meters less water in January, than Cyprus did the whole year, in 2011. The dams are filled to almost bursting and when they overflow, there will be the biggest party on the (wet) banks of the dam, to celebrate.
Cyprus has had years of water shortage and people have had to be extremely careful with their usage. This news now is excellent - though frustrating to live through the eg washing not drying and rooftops flooding - to say nothing of our dogs being terrified of the lightning and thunder!

It makes you smile: we spend most of our conscious time trying to "control" our environment and , at the end of the day, nature wins and will do her thing - and quite magestically at the moment.
