I was in the Bank of Cyprus yesterday and met a really pleasant older English man. I think its the time of year when people are reflecting on their lives and their lot - and are also calming down enough to pass the time of day with each other. Anyway, we got talking and he was telling me his beloved wife died 14 years ago, on their 40th wedding anniversary and that he's never met anyone to even come close to her, ever since. I explained that on Saturday, we've been married 24 years and he was quite tearful, telling me to cherish my life etc. He was very sweet and , at around, late 70s, still a handsome man who just seemed so very lonely......
Putting off killing Tony till tomorrow, coz the conversation with this man had made me think again about our lives etc, I got to talking to the owners of the beautiful villa Aarabella in Coral Bay and they told me they'd met a great old English man, called Freddie who'd said to them that he'd moved here 9 years ago, aged 72 and had never feel better. After all, he asked them, I feel so well, I bet you cannot guess my age. 81, they cried in unison - and Freddie is shocked by their psychic prowess!
Happy Christmas to Freddie, aged 81 and my mystery man in the bank.
