A very interesting day!

Its Election Day in Peyia. The school has been set up and ready to welcome voters, since 7.30 this morning. The village of Peyia is decked with posters showing the mayoral candidates (or their spray tanned younger siblings, we think!) and the locals are walking around guarding their "voting books"

With an election only every 5 years, today is very important. We've to vote for new councillors for the school, the municipality and to assist the mayor- and for the mayor himself, of course.

There are some wonderful people as candidates who are all worthy of great consideration. The difficulty is always the reality of the task, once the voting is over. That said, I've a good feeling about this new beginning. Peyia is such a mult cultural, colourful, interesting and welcoming village, it will be wonderful to see a fresh, new regime which can mix old with new and great vision: bring it on I say!
