Last night, I walked down the (very) steep hill from our villa in Peyia, to The Mill to join Tony and The Great Raymondodoulou in the quiz.

Why did I walk? Well, I decided to so I could get some exercise but I was so glad I did. The night was so still and warm. With clear skies, I was able to watch the stars twinkling in the heavens - a pasttime which nearly caused me to fall into the prickly bushes! Getting closer to the village, the Christmas lights came into view. They are so pretty. There is a huge Christmas tree next to the church, then the Municipal gardens are dressed with glittering reindeer, father christmas and baubles. I just sat and looked at them in awe.

It made me remember when, as a little girl, the christmas treat for my sister and I was to be taken to Newcastle upon Tyne main shopping street to look into Fenwicks window to marvel at the festive scenes. It was magical!

Peyia is magical today. Doesn't matter how old you are, you can still find something special if you look - and there is plenty to look at here in this wonderful village.
