The sun is in the heavens today and Peyia is basking is warm sunshine and gentle blue skies. It seems quite strange that the village is getting ready for Christmas with decorations being put in place and shops dressing their windows with tinsel and trees.
At home in our villa in Peyia, I was surprised to see small shoots of daffodils and honesty , pushing through the shale. These pretty plants normally come out and smile around end of december, so they are very early this year - but very welcome.
I know they are tough or they couldn't survive the hard , dry soil and membrane under the shale - but I hope they are also tough enough to survive Jake! He loves to run across the part of the garden where they are growing - and 70 kilos of monster puppy is enough to kill any tiny, delicate shoot off!
So, Jake versus flowers: let battle commence!
