I've just been into the centre of Peyia village to get some vegetables for lunch. It was wonderful to see so many people gathered in the centre waiting for the service of remembrance to begin.
I remember as a little girl, going with my Nanna to Hebburn Cemetary to mark this day and feeling very proud to be there with her,

Today, I prefer to remember, at home. I may love Cyprus and the village of Peyia but my heart has been back in Hebburn for the past few days.

The world has come a long way in the past decades but peace still evades part of it. Today, lets hope the power of prayer and collective thought, goes a little way to helping and healing.
