Islam, the manager of Philippos supermarket in peyia, helped out some of our customers staying in Villas Pano Lofos and Caliteri, in Peyia, big style last night
The family, 35 of them, had arrived on a flight which was 4 hours late. Getting them all into villas and apartments was great fun, if not a little scary at times as they kept driving off in different directions!
Eventually being ready to leave them in peace, I realised that they'd asked us NOT to shop for them which meant they had nothing in the villas - so I went back, got a couple of people from each villa and took them to Phillipos supermarket -which had been shut for an hour. Luckily, Islam was cementing the front step and kindly let me take the guests in, rush them around to buy basics but asked me only to ask them NOT to step in his new concrete....
So Sunny, the leader of the family and man responsible for the chaos, stepped in the concrete. Horrified, he stepped back and put his other foot in it. I almost wet myself laughing but Islam was very kind, offered to clean Sunnys shoes and began to redo his step
We shopped quickly, prudently and left - checking the concrete on the way out!!
Thank you Islam x
