A special day and an interesting night!

Yesterday, we were delighted to attend the christening of Eirini, the daughter of Stavros and Skevi Pantelides, who own The Mill, Neptune apartments, Neos Sports Bar and Ithaki Amusements. The whole event was wonderful: Eirini is a beautiful baby, who looks just like her mum - and her big brothers looked very proud waiting in their baby sister through the whole proceedings..... Held at Ampelones tavern, the evening celebrations were great fun too - though we all ate too much!

Tonight, we've been sobered up by the appearance of a baby blunt nose viper which was hiding in one of our plants in the garden. Beth, our friend and gardener, spotted it first then rang me. I rang James who rang Robin - and Robin arrived ready to "Act like a man", he said but he looked particularly scared - though not as much as me!
Two pitch forks, one set of shears, a lot of swearing and some very funny movement of the feet later, the HUGE (approx 5cm ) baby was scared out of its hiding place into the rocks at the side of the house - where I've a horrible feeling Mummy is hiding, so we are busy putting snake powder down everywhere to stop her coming back to fight us for scaring her daughter!
