I had to smile yesterday as, driving through Peyia on the way to checkin guests to the beautiful Vals Apartment in Peyia, I noticed all the bars were full of men, cheering on their various football teams..... Their shouts of complaint, criticism and abuse were hilarious: I would have loved to have seen any of them try to play rather than grumble.

This morning, at home in Peyia, I decided to go in the pool for a swim but it felt very cold. My Mum, who is staying with us, told me not to be silly, the water was lovely and would be fine - from her balcony. Tony, who was watching and tutting, told me just to jump in, it was fine....

10 very cold minutes and a quick swim later, I felt refreshed, noted the water WAS freezing - and Mum and Tony were nowhere near the water at all - but still quick to comment!

I'm waiting for a moment to push one of them in, then we'll see!
