Tony was telling me that the witches in Romania were all getting together on Thursday last week, to cast a spell on the government to try to get them to reduce taxes.

He was offering to polish my broomstick so I could fly out and offer my support!
He is now recovering nicely in hospital.....

Got me thinking: many of the expats here in Peyia did exactly that about 18 months ago. Unhappy with the Cypriot ways of paperwork eg water board, they gathered together outside of the municipality with leaflets which they gave to the Cypriot works, telling them how to do their jobs properly! In a more English way, of course!

The consequence? No spell required. No bill payments accepted from these people then or even now so many facing % increases on their outstanding monies........

Was it worth the aggression and unpleasantness? No. Perhaps this group should head to Romania?
