A very kind village.......

Peyia village is wonderful. The locals have the biggest hearts and love to welcome the incomers and tourists. We've spent the last week, finalising the wedding of George and Rebecca - and everywhere they've gone,from bakery to florist, they've been met with help, warmth and smiles. Our friends in the village have been truly wonderful.

I was welcoming guests to villas in Coral Bay and Peyia yesterday and talking to one particular family about how lovely the people are - and the man in the car with me started to laugh, pointing at a sign in one of the village tavernas as we drove up through Peyia.

It reads "Free one glass of wine. Is very complimentary wine".......So you see, even our beverages have been taught to be kind to the tourists and say nice things before they are drunk.

I went in last night just for the hell of it and the wine in the glass said, "You look nice tonight. You've had your roots done and your hair looks great".

It didn't really but as I HAD had my hair done and no-one noticed, I have to believe the wine would have said that: after all, its "very complimentary"!
