Peyia puddles

Its been raining heavily now for approx 24 hours. We've had thunder and lightning, hailstorms and consistent "proper" heavy rain for what seems like , forever!

The villagers love it! Rain is so overdue here and we need the water to replenish the reservoirs ready for the holiday season this year. We love it too - it is such good fun driving and walking through puddles and watching the rivers of water rolling down the Peyia hills.

From our home, just next to Pano Lofos villa, we've got incredible views of the whole of the Paphos to St Georges coastline and can track the clouds and rain as they leisurely roll across the waters and head towards us: and the sight is totally magnificent.

Noting how dark its stayed all day; how wet and muddy everything is and how many people are completely drenched as they go about their business, I couldn't help noting too that there are still smiling faces everywhere............so its raining? So what! We are alive, healthy and the rain has a purpose for our community. Enjoy it!! (or so the message seems to be!).

For me, I'll keep my vantage point on the hillside and watch the evening come in and wait for the next storm. Gorgeous!
