I had to laugh yesterday when I went to collect Beth, our beautiful Philippino friend who works for us and lives here in Peyia. We were chattering on the way to work, as you do, about life, people, men and affairs, when Beth just casually mentioned that her Aunty had recently discovered that her husband was having an affair...

She went on to say, that a few days after the revelation, the Aunt and Uncle were making love when the Aunt just "cut off his d**k!"

I don't know what shocked me more: that we were having this conversation in the quiet of a lovely Peyia morning; that it had happened at all - or that Beth, who is the most gentle person I've ever met, knew the "d" word and used it so casually!

Well, what will today bring?!

ps I asked her what happened then and she said her Aunt was arrested and her uncle wasn't happy........
