The Easter Celebrations

Lynn - 06/04/2010

Peyia has been full of life for the past few days. From the huge bonfire burning the "spirit of Juddas" on Easter Saturday to yesterdays "Easter games" in the car park in the village centre, the village has been filled with happy noise and fun.

I've worked from home each day, other than checking in lovely guests then going to see them yesterday with everything from bread (they'd run out in Coral Bay but Peyias bakeries had bread in abundance) to batteries to instructions on using gas cookers....was great fun!

Tony is in America so I'm "home alone" with the animal posse who are taking great care of me. In fact, I'm not allowed out of Alfies sight: he's even taken to sitting at the side of the bath. Jake, 66 kilos, curls up in bed with me to "keep me safe", squashing Molly and Charlie cat who do this each night anyway.

The house is quiet but the hillside is full of life. The goats and their kids travel the hill each afternoon, tinkling their bells as the babies call out to their mothers to come and get them over the "scary rocks". Its lovely.

Easter ends tonight and we're all back to normal tomorrow - but our normal is still a great way to live so bring it on!
