One of the huge responsibilities of running holiday villas and apartments in the areas of Coral Bay and Peyia, is knowing where to shop and being able to recommend to holidaymakers staying in Peyia or Coral Bay, whats good and whats not.
Truth is, all the local shops in Peyia are good - but I make it my business to visit them regularly just to check. And of course, to visit the wine bar/cafe bar and tavernas in Peyia, just to make sure nothings changed!!
I actually HATE shopping: don't like clothes shopping and wouldnt thank you for a day in a city window shopping - but I LOVE shopping for fresh flowers, plants or vegetables so I've had a ball today visiting the florist and losing an hour in the newly delivered flowers, learning their names (laughing at the one called "don't know" by Maria), then going to the new fresh veg shop where the colours of the fruit and veg just make me want to stand back and stare. Wonderful!
Then I came home and played putting flowers in vases, arranging vegetables then cooking some, mixing the colours of the stuff I bought to make some form of soup I couldn't choose a name for but is know in our home as "depressed broth" coz I normally make it only when I'm feeling low. Today, its "Happy stuff" and looks cheerful - possibly too colourful to actually eat but it was therapeutic to make!
I've got arrivals at teatime then I'm off to Greek school - closely followed by a recky to the newest bar in Peyia!
