A Peyia Friday : Peyia Cyprus

Peyia Cyprus

A Peyia Friday

Lynn - 19/02/2010

We're going out into our lovely village tonight, to have dinner with Susie and The Great Raymondodoulou in Peyia Tavern. Its our food equivalent of a "cuddle". We call it "comfort food".

The atmosphere in the Tavern, known as Michaels, is great. Locals and tourists mix. There is no standing on ceremony and we all look forward to Michaels call of "yes please" as we walk in.

Don't know why he asks: the food is always reliably the same and we enjoy it and the wine, very much. Mr Bush, the stray cat who lives on the doorstep of the taverna - and has done for the past 8 years we've been here - waits and cries to everyone who passes: "Give me food".....he's too fat to move to go and get it himself!

Gordon and Chris are here: TGRs brother and sister in law. Fresh from the UK for a week of peace and sunshine in Peyia, they will be relaxed and sunkissed after a lovely February Friday. We're both shattered after a busy day booking villas for holidaymakers coming to Peyia and Coral Bay but a few wines, and we'll all be fine!

Yammas!
