Its been a lovely weekend. George, the eldest child and only son of two of our dearest friends, is staying with us and has brought his fiance to meet us. They are getting married in August, in Paphos and have come to see the area...

Well, they WERE getting married in August in Paphos- they are now getting married in August in PEYIA because both of them have, quite rightly , fallen in love with our village and want to say "I do" in the grounds of the Fountain of Women, in the centre of the village. They have then chosen The Mill, the wine bar opposite the wedding venue, for their reception.

Tony and I are thrilled to bits! We love Peyia and wanted them to marry here but we've had to just listen and support them while they've made their own decisions - but I couldn't help jumping with delight when they did finally decide to go ahead with Peyia.

Its quite hard to describe the warmth of the people in the village of Peyia or how quaint and pretty the centre is. You really need to be here yourself to see it!

Now, I need to find something to wear so I'm off shopping......
