It is so windy here in Peyia today. We've lost a huge tree at the side of our house: its blown over, despite being rooted quite firmly (we thought) in the ground. Hitting the chiminea on the way down, its also taken some pretty flowering pots which we had on the wall. Quite a mess but mainly sad for the tree, which seemed very happy in its spot by the fence. Maybe Tony can save it - he's great with all things "garden"!
There is a lot of snow in the Troodos Mountains today too, according to the weather forecaster. I can just imagine the queues of 4 wheel drive vehicles heading up to Platres today, to enjoy the snow and, for some, to ski down the slopes. We're going to take the dogs up in a couple of weeks. Alfie loves to play in the snow so, once his test results come back and we know he is okay (we pray), then we're off! Mollys undercarriage is low, so we'll have to watch her and Jake hasn't ever seen snow , though he's dressed and ready for it in his fur coat. Should be fun.
Tony saved me some hailstones which fell when I was in YUK last weekend. They are in the freezer in the ice cube tray - and very nearly ended their journey in Vanessas GnT the other day!
But is it cold with this extreme weather? Well, not really in comparison to UK but quite for we locals! A shivering 12 degrees today!!
