A waggly tale.........

Lynn - 26/01/2010

I've just got home from YUK today and Alfie dog is very poorly. Jake is behaving beautifully though and I'm very grateful to him. He and the other animals seem to know Alfie isn't well - and that we are worried, so they are being very good - like children dressed in their Sunday best!

We know it won't last - and we pray Alfies illness passes quickly too though, after 5 months and many medicines and tests, today we are being realistic and just looking after him. I read a book when I was away and one chapter was entitled, "There is much work for love to do" : I think that's the line for us in our home during this sad time for our beautiful eldest dog. He's given us enough love - he deserves no less in return.

"Never again" comes to mind but, with a houseful of "never agains" and enough comforting memories of beloved pets who now rest in the heavens, we will hang on to the hope that this time passes and Alfie returns to rude health - and that we are strong enough to love him well every moment he is suffering.

Sorry to be sad: I don't mean to be. Its just that Alfie deserves at the very least, acknowledgement and thoughts - and many, many thoughts can make many good things happen! Fingers and paws crossed!
